FAQ

What fees are involved?
Our fee for a 50 minute session varies depending on the experience and designation of the therapist you see.  Please call for specifics for each therapist.

Do you have reduced rates for those in financial need?
Yes we do have a sliding scale for those who are in financial need.

Are you covered by OHIP or other insurance?
Medical doctors and psychiatrists are the only counsellors or psychotherapists that are covered by OHIP in Ontario.  However, we are covered by most employee benefit packages which cover the services of a  Registered Psychologist, Registered Psychotherapist or Registered Marriage & Family Therapist. Julianne Maslabey is a Medavie Blue Cross provider for Veterans Affairs (VAC), Canadian Armed Forces (CAF) and RCMP.

What forms of payment do you take?
Fees are payable by cash, cheque, Visa, Mastercard and American Express. A receipt is provided.

What is the difference between counselling and psychotherapy?
Counselling often involves the exploration of options that help clients make better decisions and choices in their lives.  Psychotherapy helps patients heal and strengthen their inner selves so that they feel better and are thus able to cope with life stressors and form healthier relationships.  Safe Harbour Psychotherapy provides both services.

How many sessions will I need?
The answer is entirely dependent on the goals of the client.  Some clients achieve their goals after 2-3 sessions and others want to achieve deeper transformation through more long term support.
